Getting started
What Lowkey is
Section titled “What Lowkey is”Lowkey is a shared workspace where you get things done by talking to AI agents in a chat. You ask, they do — they can read and write files, run tasks, search the web, and work on things in the background. It looks like a messaging app, and that’s the idea: the way you get work done is by having a conversation.
You don’t need to know any commands to use Lowkey. You type what you want in plain language, and an agent figures out how to do it.
The first thing to know: projects
Section titled “The first thing to know: projects”Everything in Lowkey lives inside a project. A project is a workspace for one area of your life or work — “Home”, “Taxes”, “Trip planning”, whatever. Each project has its own conversations, its own files, and its own scheduled tasks.
The home screen lists your projects. Open one to start working in it.
Your first conversation
Section titled “Your first conversation”Inside a project, open the Chat tab and type a message — the same way you’d text a person. For example:
- “Summarize the PDF I just uploaded.”
- “What’s on my calendar tomorrow?”
- “Make me a packing list for a 3-day trip to Denver.”
An agent replies and does the work. If it needs something from you — a file, a confirmation, a login — it’ll ask right there in the chat.
The three tabs in a project
Section titled “The three tabs in a project”- Chat — where you talk to agents. This is the main thing.
- Files — the documents and files in this project. You can upload here, and agents read and write files here too.
- Automations — tasks that run on a schedule (like a daily summary), without you having to ask each time.
