Managing your team (admins)

For the owner or an admin on your Lowkey. If you just want to bring someone into one project, that’s Working with other people — any project owner can do it.

Your Lowkey has a list of the people who may use it. As an admin, you keep that list: who gets in, and who is an admin alongside you.

Open Settings → Users. This is the access list for your Lowkey: anyone not listed here cannot sign in, even if they have a Google account and complete the Google sign-in. Each row shows the person’s name, their @handle, their email, and how they sign in. Badges mark the Founding admin (the first admin the Lowkey team set up), other Admins, and You.

If you don’t see Users in Settings, you aren’t an admin on this Lowkey. If you see “Multi-user is not enabled” instead of a list, your Lowkey is still set up for a single shared sign-in — ask the Lowkey team to switch it over.

At the bottom of the page, fill in the Add user form:

  • Email — the Google account they’ll sign in with.
  • Name (optional) — how they’ll show up in chats.
  • Handle (optional) — their @handle for mentions. Leave it blank and Lowkey makes one from their email.
  • Role — User for most people, Admin for someone who should also manage this list.

Click Add user. They get their own Home and space for projects right away.

The form also has a Local tab for a username and password instead of Google. Use it only if the Lowkey team has told you your Lowkey accepts password sign-ins; otherwise people sign in with Google.

Send them your Lowkey’s address. They open it and sign in with the Google account you entered. Adding them is the access decision: the right Google account gets them in only because they’re on the list, and someone who isn’t on the list gets turned away even with a working Google account.

Once they’re in, they start with nothing shared. Bring them into the projects they should work on from each project’s Access tab — see Working with other people.

Click the bin icon on their row and confirm. They can’t sign in from that moment on. Removing someone ends their access; it doesn’t delete the projects or files they worked on.

You can’t remove yourself or the founding admin, so there is always a way back in. There’s no role switch on the list today; to make someone an admin (or stop them being one), ask the Lowkey team.

Admins manage who is on the list, and can add or remove people on any project (project owners can do that for their own projects too). Depending on your plan, admins may also connect the AI accounts your agents run on — see Connecting your AI accounts.

Being an admin doesn’t open anyone else’s connected accounts. A mailbox or API key someone connected stays theirs; nobody reads its secret back out, and nobody else uses it unless its owner shares it. See Credentials and who can use them.

Some things are handled by the Lowkey team rather than in your Settings: which agents your Lowkey has and how they’re set up, which models are offered, and updates. For any of those, contact the Lowkey team.
